Chevrolet India today announced the kick-off of the donation and delivery of 20,000 indestructible One World Futbols to marginalized and underprivileged children in India on the occasion of Children's Day.
The initiative began with donation of 91 footballs to Sankalp School in Gurgaon school for disadvantaged children.
During the next few weeks, donation will be made in Talegaon, Bangalore and Halol.
"The remaining One World Futbols will be delivered through One World Futbol Project's partner, Slum Soccer, to a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working with underprivileged youth in India," said a press release.
The unique initiative is aimed at reaching out to the less fortunate children in India, especially those who cannot afford and maintain a football.
"Many of these children are growing up in less privileged circumstances where sometimes a game of football could lighten up their lives by teaching them the true meaning of team spirit and fair play," said Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director, GM India.
