Summary of observations recorded at 0830 hrs:
The low pressure area over west Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked, yesterday evening. However, associated cyclonic circulation lay over northwest Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood. It now lies over east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood and extends upto 2.1 kms a. s. l.
The western end of axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level now runs close to the foothills of the Himalayas and eastern end of it passes through Beharaich, Gorakhpur, Patna, Purulia, Digha and thence southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.
A cyclonic circulation extending between 3.1 & 3.6 kms a. s. l. lies over south Madhya Maharashtra and neighbourhood.
The cyclonic circulation over Gulf of Martaban and adjoining north Andaman Sea now lies over westcentral Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood and extends between 1.5 & 3.1 kms a. s. l.
The east - west shear zone from the above cyclonic circulation to Lakshadweep area has become less marked. An east - west shear zone runs roughly along Lat. 12 N at 5.8 kms a. s. l.
The other western disturbance as a trough in mid & upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 kms a. s. l. now runs roughly along Long.72E to north of Lat.30N. System is likely to move east-northeastwards.
The cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood has become less marked.
The southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Tamil Nadu and active over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka.
