A Singapore-bound passenger was detained after US dollars worth Rs 1.10 crore were seized from him at the airport today.
The passenger Nainar Mohammed Rowther was detained by customs authorities after the foreign currency was found concealed in his baggage during screening by CISF personnel, police said.
He was scheduled to board a private airline for Singapore this morning.
The currency is suspected to be a hawala transaction, police said.
In a similar incident last week, Rs 25 lakh was seized from an air passenger.
