The forensic experts collected broken glasses, examined the paints on the surface of the truck with which the TMC youth wing president's car collided while returning to Kolkata after a public meeting in Murshidabad district.
Police today registered attempt to murder and conspiracy cases against unknown persons in connection with the mishap.
Sections under the Highways Act were also added in the case, a senior officer of the CID said.
Sources in the CID said reconstruction of the entire incident would be done to evaluate "who was responsible for the mishap".

According to the medical bulletin issued in the evening, the MRI report confirmed that Abhishek suffered "orbital floor fracture".
At present he is under strict observation of the 14-member medical board. Any decision on surgical intervention shall be made as soon as the acute swellings subside.
"The condition of Abhishek Banerjee is much better. He is completely out of danger. The CT scan report was normal," hospital CEO P Tandon said.
