"This would also reduce the time lost by citizens in commuting to and fro from various offices. This will also facilitate various government or civic agencies and other institutions, who seek to obtain formal tree permission from the tree authorities," said a senior Delhi government official.
Further, to streamline the Grant of Consent under the Air Act, 1981 and Water Act, 1974 and Authorisation under the Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has been framing policies and issuing necessary office orders from time to time.
In last two months DPCC has disposed off 710 cases of the consent applications under the Air & Water Acts.
The department has financially assisted 329 RWA's to maintain 1494 parks in 455 Acres area in the last 5 years.
Besides Delhi Parks and Gardens Society (DPGS) through RWA's, NGO's and institution and other agencies have got planted 4.90 Lakhs trees and 6.25 Lakhs shrubs in parks and other common areas.
