Forest Whitaker to make Broadway debut with 'Hughie'

Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker will make his Broadway debut in 2016 production of the Eugene O'Neill play "Hughie".
The 54-year-old actor-filmmaker, who earner a lot of praise for his performance as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the 2006 film "The Last King of Scotland," will take on a stage role first essayed on Broadway by Jason Robards in 1964, reported Variety.
Directed by Michael Grandage, the play - mainly a long monologue - centres on the hustler Erie Smith (Whitaker), who tells the hotel's new night clerk with stories of his past and of the time he spent with the previous night clerk, Hughie, who has recently died.
Grandage's last work on Broadway was "The Cripple of Inishmaan," which starred Daniel Radcliffe.
