Formalities of NFSA completed: Jharkhand minister

Jharkhand Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Roy today said formalities of National Food Security Act have been completed with 2.63 crore out of 2.64 crore entitled consumers.
End-to-end computerisation from consumer level to apex level in the state and digitisation was over, he said.
The supply chain management has become fully computerised.
Roy said that distribution would be made through biometric machines connected to electronic weighing machine and go through the system at district and state-level website system.
"We have almost joined the club of other three states (in computerisation)- Odisha, Chhatisgarh and Karnataka," he said.
Stating that a ration card management system has been introduced for every deletion and introduction, Roy said the system was put in place after sanctioning of proper authority.
"For the rest of the families we are introducing white rations cards. They will not get grains, but will get kerosene and other things which may be introduced time to time," Roy said.

He said direct benefit transfer system would be introduced and six districts would be under the anvil in the first phase.
He said that DBT transfer would be introduced for food grains in Ranchi and Ramgarh as pilot projects.
The minister said with the signing of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yozana today there would be kerosene-free zones.
