Former AGP Minister dead

minister Moidul Islam Bora today died at a local hospital after a prolonged illness, party sources said.
He was 65 and is survived by his daughter. His wife, also a leader of the party's women wing, had predeceased him about two months ago.
Bora was elected twice on an AGP ticket to the Assam Assembly from Kamalpur constituency in Lower Assam and was the sports minister in the second AGP government, led by Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, from 1995 to 2000.
Bora's body was later taken to the party headquarters at Ambari area here and will be buried tomorrow in his constituency.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi condoled Bora's death and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
"Always in the service of the society, Bora not only worked wholeheartedly and sincerely in his political and social life, but also was an upholder of democratic values. His death is an irreparable loss to all of us," he added.
Former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and other party leaders also condoled his death.
