Former Air Commodore Jasjit Singh passes away

Noted strategic analyst Air Commodore (retired) Jasjit Singh died here today after a brief illness, official sources said.
79-year-old Singh is survived by his wife and two sons.
Singh and K Subrahmanyam had laid the foundation of the premier defence think-tank, Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA).
A prolific writer on defence strategic affairs, Singh has written vastly on the import of air power, the nuclear issue and various conflicts, including Kargil war.
The mortal remains of Singh was cremated this evening in Brar Square crematorium amidst the presence of top officials from three services, including IAF chief N A K Browne and members from the strategic community.
