Four others named in the case were sentenced to three years' rigorous imprisonment. One person had died during the course of the trial.
A CBI press release said that R Krishnadoss, former branch manager of Central Bank of India's Mylapore branch here, and top executives of city-based firm Mars Communication entered into a conspiracy in which Krishnadoss offered loans on the basis of fake property documents to the four persons, causing a loss of Rs 2.96 crore to the bank.
The CBI Special Court sentenced four others -- V Sundarrajan, Harnivasani, V Karthika and M Vinod of Mars Communication -- to three years' RI and slapped a total fine of Rs 3.08 crore on them, the release added.
Another accused -- Goverthan of Mars Communication -- died during course of trial, it said.
