Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra referred to AIIMS

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, who has been sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a CBI court here in a fodder scam case, was today referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) by a medical board.
"The medical board of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIIMS) has referred him (Mishra) to AIIMS or any other authorised medical institution as may be decided by the government," Director of RIIMS Tulsi Mahato said here.
Mishra was admitted to RIIMS hours after his conviction in the RC20A/96 fodder case on September 30.
He was sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment and had been fined Rs two lakh by the special CBI court of Pravas Kumar Singh on October 3.
Besides Mishra, former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and sitting JD(U) MP Jagdish Sharma were among 45 others who were convicted and sentenced for fraudulently withdrawing Rs 37.7 crore from Chaibasa Treasury.
