Former college principal shot dead

A former college principal and district panchayat member was allegedly shot dead by some unidentified men near Ouddaidpur Shakshi Ashram area here, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the assailants fired at Sujata Verma from behind, killing her on the spot, they said.
Verma, a former principal of Avantibai Degree College for three years, had earlier asked for police protection fearing for her life.
No arrests have been made in the matter so far and further investigations are on, police said.
