"The first draft of my book was ready within six months of my leaving office. After that I got busy and couldn't complete it", Kasuri who was the minister till 2007 said at a discussion organised by civil society group 'Centre for Peace and Progress'.

When he began writing, Kasuri said, he was confused where to start from and where to end as there were so many countries of which he could write about.

"Then I thought of focusing on the India-Pakistan relations. Hopefully, it will be published within one year", said Kasuri, who has now joined cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

His wife Mona, who also accompanied him during his three-day visit to the city, was born in Kolkata.

"I am here to discover my roots in the city," she said with a smile on her face.

On Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's conviction for contempt by the Supreme Court there, Kasuri said it was a proud moment for Pakistan as it shows the strength of the judiciary.
