Former Registrar evicted from AIIMS campus

Former Registrar of AIIMS, V P Gupta was today evicted from his residence located in AIIMS campus where he was staying illegally for more than two years after his retirement in 2011.
The eviction was carried out at 11 AM on the orders of the Estate officer Dr Shakti Gupta under the supervision of deputy chief security officer R S Rawat.
According to AIIMS sources, Gupta was living in a house, which as per the category is allotted to Group A employees like professors and Head of departments.
"Moreover, one is entitled to an accomodation in AIIMS campus till he is in job and his stay can be only extended for the next three months of his retirement," said a source from AIIMS.
Sources said, several notices had been issued to Gupta in the past few months but he never responded to any of them.
Gupta's son is working in the technical department of AIIMS.

As per the eviction procedure, staff from the security department reached his house E/63 and asked him to vacate immediately. They held orders of eviction issued by the Estate Committee.
When Gupta refused to vacate, the staff forcefully shifted his belonging outside the house. By late in the evening, it was learnt that Gupta left for some other place with his belongings.
A couple of days back, an administrative officer V B Mishra was also evicted from his residence where he was staying illegally.
