The cyber police today arrested former journalist and activist Ketan Tirodkar for allegedly using objectionable language about women on social media.
A complaint had been registered at the Bandra Kurla Complex Cyber Police Station in the city against Tirodkar (52) on July 21.
According to the complaint, Tirodkar made insulting remarks and used abusive language about certain women in some of his posts and comments on Facebook, said a police official.

Following an investigation, police today arrested Tirodkar and produced him before a court, which sent him in police custody till December 11, the official added.
Tirodkar is known for filing several public interest litigations over the years. He had also filed a PIL against Maharashtra government's decision to give 16 per cent reservations to the Maratha community.
