Former TMC leader discharged from hospital

Former Trinamool Congress leader Asif Khan, arrested on charges of his alleged involvement in a cheating case, was today discharged from the state-run hospital, where he was admitted on Thursday evening after he complained of illness.
The five-member medical board constituted to take a call on Khan's medical report, found him stable and fit to be discharged, hospital authorities said.
"Mr Khan has a history of diabetes and hyper-tension. On Thursday we had admitted him after he complained of illness," they said.
"We have conducted all kinds of medical tests on him (Khan). A medical board was formed to look into his report and today morning it found him quite stable to be discharged," the authorities added.
Bidhannagar Police had arrested Khan on Thursday from his residence at Tiljala in the eastern part of the city in connection with the case and taken him to the Barasat court.
Incidentally, Bidhannagar police yesterday freezed Khan's bank account which had a balance of Rs 3.14 crore.
