Speaker V Sabapathy, Ministers, legislators, Lok Sabha MP R Radhakrishnan, delegates of various organisations also paid homage at the statue.
A Rs 30 crore Memorial of Kamaraj on a 23 acres site is being constructed by the government for which the foundation was laid by the Chief Minister recently. This would be a venue for various cultural, educational and literary activites, besides housing an academy to train candidates appearing for the civil service examinations.
