Former TN CM Annadurai remembered on his death anniversary

: Dravidian veteran and former Chief Minister C N Annadurai was remembered across Tamil Nadu on his 49th death anniversary today, with Chief Minister K Palaniswami and DMK leader M K Stalin paying tributes to him.
Palaniswami, his deputy O Panneerselvam and senior Ministers participated in a community feast on the occasion.
Palaniswami, Panneerselvam and his cabinet colleagues paid floral tributes at the Anna Memorial at the Marina beach here, an official release said.
Later, Palaniswami participated in a community feast at Arulmigu Sakthi Vinayagar Temple in the city while Panneerselvam took part at the Arulmigu Maruntheeswarar Temple in Thiruvanmiyur.
Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal and senior cabinet ministers also took part in community feasts organised on the occasion.
Meanwhile, DMK observed the anniversary of Annadurai by holding a silent march in the city.

In neighbouring Puducherry, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy paid homage to Annadurai by paying floral tributes at the statue of the late leader.
A veteran Dravidian leader, Annadurai ushered in the first post-independence era non-Congress government in Tamil Nadu in 1967 when his party stormed to power.
The AIADMK, founded by actor-politician M G Ramachandran five years later, was named after him and called as the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
