The modern multi-storey cultural Centre costing between Rs 40 and 50 crore would come up in the premises of Town Hall in Ranchi, he said.
Addressing at Bangla Sanskritik Mela here, Das said the Centre would help in organising cultural programmes.
He said India is a multi-cultural country and has succeeded in protecting its culture even after the long colonial rule and the contribution of Bengali society has been immense.
Affirming that the Bengali society always remained at the forefront during freedom struggle, Das said several great personalities like Rabindra Nath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Subhas Chandra Bose and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee gave a new identity to it.
