Four children were allegedly raped by two persons in two villages under Radhakishorpur police station area in Gomati district, about 60 km from Agartala, a district police officer said.
"In a bizarre incident, three tribal children of two, six and seven years of age were raped by one Bijendra Reang.
"When they were playing in the backyard of a house at Datarambari of the district, Bijendra called them inside a house and then raped the girls repeatedly on Sunday last. When the incident happened, their parents were out for work. An FIR was filed yesterday and the accused was arrested," Superintendent of Police Prabir Majumder said.
Reang was today produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mridul Chakraborty where the accused claimed himself to be a minor.
Court ordered a day's judicial custody and asked the accused to be produced tomorrow with proof of age.
In another incident, a five-year old girl was allegedly raped by one Nirmal Debnath on Monday last at Hadra under the same police station.
Debnath was also produced in the same court today and the judge referred the case to a juvenile court at Agartala and the accused was sent to a juvenile home.
