Police in China's Anhui province rescued four women forced to work as a sex slaves after cracking down on two gangs which abducted mentally handicapped women, state media reported today.
Police in Dingyuan county in eastern China said the two gangs held the women in a local village, where they were raped and beaten before being sold off to farmers between 4,000 and 20,000 yuan (USD 650 to USD 3,250).
At least 10 women from Anhui and nearby Jiangsu province fell victims to the gangs over the past five years, they said.
