Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, in the presence of AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik, inaugurated the four-day comprehensive health fair 'Arogya' -- organised jointly by Union ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), FICCI and Chhattisgarh government.
The fair showcases the advancements in clinical practices and research in traditional medicines.
"The health mela attracts international researchers, manufacturers and processors and people from all walks of life who evince a great interest in the traditional knowledge systems of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Medicine and the therapeutic effects of Yoga," an AYUSH ministry statement said.
Raipur was selected as the venue for the fair looking at its importance as a major centre for growth of AYUSH raw material, it said.
Several companies of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha and Unani were also participating from six states, including Chhattisgarh.
