Four family members killed in road accident

Four members of a family - a couple and their two children - were killed and another three-year-old son was seriously injured in a road mishap at Haladiapadara near here in Odisha's Ganjam district today.
The mishap took place when the family members were proceeding in a motor-cycle and a private bus ran over their two-wheeler, said S B Das, the inspector in-charge of traffic police station here.
The dead were identified as Santosh Gouda (40), a mason, his wife Tukuni (35), son Krushna (7) and daughter Mama (5), he said.
Another son Rahul (3) sustained serious injuries in the accident and was rushed at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, police said.

The district administration sanctioned Rs 10,000 to the kin for each of the deceased for immediate expenditure. "We also sanctioned Rs 3000 from the Red Cross fund for the treatment of the child," said sub collector (Berhampur) Sidhartha Shankar Swain.
