Four firms selected as potential 'billion dollar babies'

As part of encouraging companies which have grown several manifold, not for profit organisation TiECON (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Chennai has selected four companies that would become 'Billion Dollar Babies' in future.
Information technology solutions provider Congruent Solutions, digital magazine store Magzter, financial software service provider FSS (Financial Software Systems) and water treatment player VA Tech Wabag were shortlisted as potential Billion Dollar babies from Tamil Nadu.
"These four companies will be showcased at an event on November 1 in Chennai.These companies which have the promise of becoming Billion Dollar babies were selected by two member jury -- Anup Bagchi from ICICI Securities and Ashwin Narasimhan from Bank of America", TiECON Chennai Programme Committee Chairman, R Narayanan told reporters.
According to ICICI Securities Managing Director, Anup Bagchi, the selected companies had the confidence that was not there in the industry two decades back.
"We received more than 50 nominations. We narrowed it down to 18 and from that, four were shortlisted... Somewhere we hope they can motivate other companies...," he said.
