"A Munger-based illegal arms supplier Deepak Kumar Saha and his customer Mehraj Ali, native of Kithor in Meerut, were arrested on specific input near Indraprastha Park, Opposite Millennium Depot, yesterday," said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner (Crime) of Police.
Twenty automatic pistol of various calibre and 15 live cartridges of 7.65 bore were recovered from the possession of the duo, he said.
A team of Special Cell caught Mukarram Ali Khan, a resident of Pul Pehladpur in Delhi, near Kalindi Kunj Barrage yesterday and recovered a huge haul of ammunition from him.
Mukarram who completed his graduation from a university in Hyderabad, took to shooting in 2012 as he lived near Karni Singh shooting range. He went on to win medals at zonal and state level championships but after coming in contact with a Muzaffarnagar-based supplier of illegal arms and ammunition, he joined their trade, the officer said.

Munger, Khargone (MP), Meerut and Muzaffarnagar have emerged as the hubs of illegal arms supply to gangsters in Delhi and NCR. The help of local police is being sought to bust the manufacturing modules there, Yadav said.
