Four held for illegal arms possession

Four persons, including three from Uttar Pradesh, were today arrested from Medak district of Telangana for illegal possession of arms, police said.
According to Tirupatanna Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sangareddy division) the arrests were made after Sangareddy Rural police conducted sudden checks near Fasalwadi village on the town outskirts this morning and found four persons moving suspiciously near a hotel.
Subsequently, all of them were taken into custody and on searching them, police found two country-made pistols, three live bullets and two knives.
The arrested accused were identified as M D Riyasat (25), a local driver, Raju Yadav (21), Ajay Kumar Yadav (22) and Vikas Yadav (20), all labourers from UP.
The accused had hatched a plan to extort money from the rich by threatening with weapons, police said.
A case has been registered and police is investigating the case.
Notably, within three months, two UP gangs have been arrested from Medak district. On April 11 this year, Rajgopalpet police had arrested two persons hailing from Varanasi with a pistol and 11 live bullets.
