The personnel who belonged to the 6th IRB battalion had an altercation among themselves after allegedly consuming alcohol at their post at Maphou area about 40 km east of here, the sources said.
They then started shooting among themselves with their service rifles in which four were killed, the sources said.
Police forces from Imphal have rushed to the spot for investigation, they added.
