Four juveniles flee from observation home in Meerut

Four juveniles escaped from the Surajkund observation home in Nauchandi area here, police said.
The incident took place last evening and juveniles escaped by crossing the boundary wall of the home, using ropes made of blankets and bedsheets, Meerut District Probation officer Pushpendra Singh said .
A case has been registered in this regard and efforts are on to nab them, he added.
Singh said that a case of dereliction of duty by the employees of the observation home has come to light and will send a report to the Social Welfare Department recommending action against those responsible.
Out of four juveniles, three belonged to Meerut while one was from Baghpat, Singh said.
Last year, as many as 91 juveniles fled from the same remand home out of which 80 were nabbed but 11 are still missing.
