A bus fell into the gorge between Dhumakot and Nainidanda about 160 km from Pauri at around 1:30 PM,Pauri Superintendent of police Rajiv Swaroop told PTI.
Police rescue teams rushed to the spot within minutes of being informed about the mishap and recovered three bodies besides 26 injured out of whom one succumbed at Nainidanda hospital where all the injured have been admitted, the SP said.
The scene of the accident has been cordoned off and rescue teams are still searching the area for any more bodies, he said.
The bus was going from Ramnagar to Rikhnikhal when the mishap took place, the SP said.
It is not yet clear what led to the accident, he said.
