Four militants including three key commanders of Pakistani Taliban, who were involved in 60 high-profile terrorism cases, have been killed by security forces in the restive Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan.
The top administrator of the area said the four militants carried a bounty of Rs 14 million on their heads.
"They have been identified as active commanders of the banned outfit organisations, Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-i-Islam," Shahab Ali Shah, a political agent, said at a press-conference here today.
The four militants have been identified through their DNA test.
Three of them were identified as TTP commanders Jamil alias Jangrez, Shahidullah and Shahid Balage while the fourth person, Raidab Khan, was a key commander of Lashkar-i-Islam (LI).
"They were wanted in about 60 high-profile terrorism cases, including Meena Bazaar powerful bomb blast, attacks on All Saint John Church Peshawar and Commandant Frontier Constabulary Sifwat Ghayoor," Shah said.
He said elements found guilty in disturbing the atmosphere and law and order situation in Khyber Agency would be dealt with an iron hands.
