Ramshahaya Mongiya, lodged at the Bundi District Jail on charges of theft, escaped on Tuesday late night by duping the escorting policemen while he was being taken back to the prison by a roadways bus after being produced at a local court in Tonk district.
ASI Ramesh Chand, constables Bharatlal, Ramjilal and Bragendra Singh were suspended yesterday on charges of dereliction of duty by District SP Priti Chandra.
Special teams have been constituted to nab the accused, she said, adding a probe is on by Additional SP N L Pavan in the matter.
