Four sentenced to death for murder

The sessions court here today awarded capital punishment to four persons, including three brothers, for brutally hacking a man to death over a monetary dispute.
Additional Public Prosecutor Sunil Vishwakarma said that judge H K Mishra sentenced Ameen Khan (32), Shaikh Dawood (34), Shaikh Amjad (34) and Mithun Malviya (26) for the murder of Yakub Khan (35) at Dhana village in the district on December 18, 2012.
Ameen, Dawood and Amjad are brothers.
Vishwakarma said the four convicts owed Rs 17,000 to Yakub and when Yakub visited their house to demand his money back, there was an altercation, following which they axed him and chopped him into 60 pieces.
The body was dumped into an open borewell. The borewell's top was packed with mud.
After Yakub's brother lodged a missing person complaint, police started investigation.
The remains of the body were recovered from the borewell on January 18, 2013.
Judge Mishra, apart from awarding the death sentence, also sentenced the four accused to seven years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on them under section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of IPC, Vishwakarma added.
