Four sustain burn injuries after electric wire snaps on them

Four people suffered burn injuries after an overhead electric wire snapped and fell on them near Durgasthan Chowk under Town police station area in Bihar's Katihar district today, a police officer said.
An 11,000 volt high tension electric wire snapped all of a sudden trapping four teenagers, including three girls, while they were passing by a road, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rakesh Kumar said.
All four, identified as Rahul Kumar (18), Anjali Kumari (20), Puja Kumari (17) - all members of a family - and another girl Rangoli Paswan (12), suffered serious burn injuries, he said adding they were admitted to a government hospital where the doctors referred Rahul to Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital at Bhagalpur after his condition deteriorated.
Local residents blocked the road for hours demanding compensation to the injured and stern against electricity department officials responsible for the incident, Kumar added.
