While Kaushal Urrawasa (26) and Hemraj Naag (40) were apprehended by a joint squad of district force and BSF from Chhotedhaunsa village forests under Tadoki police station limits, two cadres were arrested by a team of local police from Iragaon forest in Kondagaon district.
"The security forces were carrying out a combing operation in Tadoki region, located around 250 kms from the state capital Raipur, when they got inputs about the presence of Urrawasa and Naag, both natives of
Badedhaunsa-Chhotedhaunsa villages," Kanker SP RN Dash told PTI.
Dash said that the duo were suspected to be involved in serious criminal offences, including loot, arson and attacks on police party.
In another search operation, two naxals, identified as Magnu and Ramesh, were apprehended from Iragaon forests, a police official said, adding that the duo were hiding in the forest to keep an eye on the movement of security forces.
Both Magnu and Ramesh were wanted in several incidents of crime in the region, the official added.
