The youth identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of JJ Colony in Okhla in south Delhi, came to the Govindpuri Metro station at around 11.15 AM and jumped to his death from the platform.
Kumar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind Kumar taking the extreme step.
Kumar's suicide is the fourth such incident in the past one week at the Delhi Metro premises in the National Capital Region.
Last week, there were two incidents of people jumping to their death from Delhi Metro station premises. On Saturday, a 55-year-old jumped before a running train at the INA Metro station but was rescued.
Incidents of suicides have been on the rise inside Delhi Metro premises for the past few months and Delhi Metro has been concerned about it.

Reacting to today's incident, DMRC spokesman Anuj Dayal said they are extremely concerned about the suicides taking place in the Metro premises and appealed to the general public to help in preventing the same at the Metro stations by keeping a close watch on the behaviour of the people around them.
He said Delhi Metro chief Mangu Singh issued directions today to survey all the elevated Metro stations with the intention of raising the level of the station platform railings to deter such attempts.
