Fraud case against court employee transferred to the CID

A fraud case registered against N Venkataramana Murthy, a Vizianagaram district court employee, has been handed over to the CID for further investigation, it was officially announced here today.
According to a release issued by the police, the accused had allegedly collected Rs 1.5 crore from 177 youth between 2013 and 2015 by promising them jobs in the courts of Vizianagaram, Srikakukulam and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh between 2013 and 2015.
A case which was registered under Section 420, Section 468 and Section 471 of the Indian Penal Code against the court employee by the Vizianagaram rural police station, was transferred to the CID, Visakhapatnam Deputy Superintendent of Police (CID) L T V Ravi Kumar, who is also investigation officer in the case, said in the release.
Victims may approach the regional CID office at Visakhapatnam with evidence or relevant information about the case, the release said.
