The Centre today said it was awaiting the outcome of an inquiry being conducted into the incident of illegal stay of a woman posing as IAS officer in the country's premier training Academy in Mussoorie.
"This is the case of forgery and confined to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). The administration there on their own is looking into it. The Centre will step in, if necessary, into the matter after the Academy's inquiry," Union Minister Jitendra Singh told PTI.
It is the case of fraud. It has been reported that the woman has allegedly given bribe to Academy officers and she had forged certificates. All this will be looked into by them, said Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, from Bengaluru-- where he is attending BJP's national executive meeting.
The officials in the Academy are tight lipped about the incident and avoiding sharing details of the inquiry. Repeated calls made to office and residence of Rajeev Kapoor, Director, LBSNAA were not answered.
"It is a serious lapse on part of the Academy authorities. It poses a great risk," a senior IAS official, who underwent training in the Academy, posted here said.
The LBSNAA act as country's premier institute to promote good governance by providing quality training for building a professional and responsive civil service in a caring, ethical and transparent framework.
