Free mixie, fan, grinders distributed to 80 lakh TN women

Over 80 lakh homemakers have been distributed with Tamil Nadu government's flagship welfare scheme of free mixies, grinders and fans, ever since its announcement in 2011, Special Programmes Implementation Minister K T Rajendra Balaji said.
Chairing a review meeting here, the Minister said the scheme drafted by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has benefited over 25 lakh and 35 lakh family card holders in 2011-12 and 2012-13 respectively.
While the target for 2013-14 was 35 lakh beneficiaries, steps were being taken to distribute to all of them and goods were being kept at godowns of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation in all districts, he said.

The state government has been procuring and distributing electric fans, mixies and grinders to the women in Tamil Nadu and commenced its distribution from September 15, 2011 on the occasion of the celebration of former CM Annadurai's birthday.
