Free mobile yoga app launched in Thailand

A free mobile app showing simple yoga exercises has been launched by the Indian Embassy here and will be available for enthusiasts in Hindi, English and Thai languages.
The app - compatible for Android - was formally launched here by India's Ambassador to Thailand Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
The 'Common Yoga Protocol' can be accessed through mobile phone, tablet, laptop etc. Easily anywhere, the Indian envoy said.
IOS and Windows version will be released soon of the app, that is free to download and will be a handy tool for all Yoga practitioners.
The launch came following the overwhelming success of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) that witnessed the participation of thousands of people, including Thais, foreigners and Indians.
Yoga, the 5,000-year-old Indian physical, mental and spiritual practice that aims to transform body and mind, remains very popular among Thais here and the lessons at the Indian Cultural Centre have a high number of attendance by Thais, foreigners and Indians.

Shringla said the first IDY was celebrated worldwide by a record number of people who practiced a Common Yoga Protocol that was designed by India.
In Bangkok, 7,438 persons performed this Protocol at Chulalongkorn University on June 21. The response encouraged the Embassy to design and develop the mobile app, he added.
The enthusiastic response on the first IDY here encouraged the Embassy of India, Bangkok to design and develop the trilingual mobile app in association with Padam Jain, a well-known Jeweller and Kumar Raj of online portal Bangkok Scoop, an official said.
Besides the mobile app launch, a book "Yoga: Bharat's Invaluable Gift to the World" by V Ravi Kumar was also released by the Embassy with the author.
