Freedom fighter VOC remembered

Chief Minister N Rangasamy paid homage at the statue of freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai on the occasion of his 78th death anniversary today.
Speaker of Puducherry Assembly V Sabapathy, Ministers, legislators and delegates of various organisations also garlanded the statue of the freedom fighter, hailed as "Kappalottiya Tamizhan", who operated the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company to conduct trade between Tuticorin and Colombo in early 1906.
