Freight rates for select centres ease

Freight rates for nine-tonne payload section to Patna, Baroda and Surat fell Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks in markets.
Transporters said less movements of cargo, along with ample position of trucks, mainly pulled down freight rates.
Delhi to Baroda, Surat and Patna freight rates went down Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 27,000 and Rs 28,000, respectively.
Elsewhere, freight rates of rest of the other centres from Delhi managed to hold at overnight levels on some support.
