Freight rates slip on excess position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following restricted cargo movements against heavy position of trucks.
Transporters attributed fall in freight rates for select destinations to restricted cargo movements against easy availability of trucks.
Delhi to Bengaluru, Chennai and Vijaywada rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 59,000, Rs 61,000 and Rs 54,000, respectively.
Rates to Pondicherry, Kochi, Mysore and Guwahati also eased by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 65,000, Rs.69,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 54,000, respectively.
