Bardot was one of the best known sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s. Calling her a "sun kissed nymph", Monisha said she was the only star to effortlessly embody the spirit of the French Riviera.
"My line is reminiscent of the early 60's and draws inspiration from the sun kissed nymph Brigitte Bardot. She was naive yet sexy with a liberated attitude to flaunting her body. Her influence transformed the Riviera from merely being a fishing enclave to a playground for the prominent and famous and being the refreshing beachwear capitol of the world," Monisha told PTI.
"My ideal woman is almost like a shape-shifter whereby she pulls off a classic kurti with flared embroidered pants and a floppy hat at breakfast by the port, to wearing a pop coloured dress at a villa luncheon or embracing the sunset in her swimsuit to dressing up in a fluid gown for a red carpet evening," she said.
The designer has used multiple techniques like zardosi, mother of pearl embroidery, metal fittings and mosaic effect through coloured glass pieces in her line.
Monisha has kept the colour palette vivid and has picked up colours like orange, creme, lime, yellow, opal and lot of metallic shades.
