Showcasing France's rich gastronomic heritage, 'French-style' menus across the world are on offer at 'Good France' (Gouts de France) event here.
"Good France has always promoted our gastronomic heritage and paved the way between cultures. Good France presents a wonderful opportunity to showcase innovative ideas to display our cuisine," French Consul General, Virginie Corteval told reporters here on Sunday.
Some of the delicacies on offer at the 'Good France' show here are 'bhetki on a bed of lentil, scented potato, (butter squash), Boulettes D'oignons, Bitter chocolate flour less pudding with milk chocolate pistachio cream anglaise.
While the event is being hosted simultaneously across five continents and in over 150 French Embassies and Consulates, in India over 70 restaurants are part of the 'Good France' 2019 edition being held from March 17-21.
The 70 participants include 11 premier hotels and fine dining restaurants in the Kolkata leg who have dished out unique French delicacies for the people in the region.
In a message, French ambassador to India, Alexandre Ziegler, said, "I am thrilled that we are focusing on professional training and sustainable development (in Good France celebrations) this year."
Referring to presence at the Good France Kolkata event, the winner of Young Chef Olympiads, Kolkata in February 2019, French-Madagascan Chef Cyrne Randrianasolo, the envoy said, "Cyrene through her trajectory and success in Kolkata, is proof of French excellence. She shows that gastronomy enables encounters between France and India."
