Fresh batch of 264 pilgrims leave for Amarnath cave shrine

A fresh batch of 264 pilgrims today left for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security.
The batch, comprising 182 men, 32 women and 49 sadhus, left in eight vehicles from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir this morning, a police officer said.
About 2.14 lakh pilgrims have so far paid obeisance at the holy cave since the beginning of the annual yatra on July 1 from Jammu.
The pilgrimage will conclude on August 18.
