Fresh rainfall, snow in parts of Himachal Pradesh

The minimum and maximum temperatures dropped marginally as higher reaches and tribal areas had another spell of moderate snowfall.

The mid and lower hills experienced widespread intermittent rains accompanied by strong winds.

Rohtang Pass, Koksar, Mari, Keylong and Gondla recorded 25 cm, 22 cm, 20 cm, 13 cm and 7cm of snow, creating cold wave conditions in adjoining valleys.

Key tourist resort of Manali received 31 mm rains while Banjar, Dalhousie and Ghumarwin recorded 25 mm rains.

Bhuntar recorded 24 mm rains, 23 mm in Saloni, 22 mm in Seobagh and Bijahi, 20 mm in Pooh, 19 mm in Bharmaur, 18 mm in Dharmshala, 17 mm in Sundernagar, 16 mm in Kheri, 15 mm in Gaggal, 13 mm in Chamba, 12 mm in Karsog, Kumarsain, Naina Devi, Palampur and Kalpa, 11 mm in Jhanjehli Pandoh, 9 mm in Rampur and Baijnath, 8 mm in Reckong Peo, 7 mm in Kandaghat and Rajgarh and 4 mm in Jhandutta.

The high altitude tribal areas shivered under sub zero temperatures as minimum temperatures ranged between minus 5 and minus 8 degrees Celsius while Keylong recorded a low of minus 1.1 degrees Celsius, followed by 1.0 degrees Celsius in Manali, 2.4 degrees Celsius in Kalpa, 9.1 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 9.2 degrees Celsius in Bhuntar, 10.6 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala, 12.0 degrees Celsius in Sundernagar, Palampur and Solan, 14.7 degrees Celsius in Una and 16.3 degrees Celsius in Nahan.

The day temperatures also dropped by one to three degrees and Una in lower hills was hottest with a high of 33.0 degrees Celsius while Nahan and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperatures at 28.1 degrees Celsius and 28.0 degrees Celsius, followed by 27.4 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala, 26.8 degrees Celsius in Bhuntar, 25.0 degrees Celsius in Solan, 21.0 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 16.0 degrees in Kalpa and 8.1 degrees Celsius in Keylong.

The MeT office here has predicted dry weather in the region over the next three days and rains and thundershowers in lower hills on April 27. The weatherman has predicted rains and thundershowers in mid hills and rains or snow in higher hills from April 25.
