The maximum temperature witnessed a dip following snowfall in the high altitude areas since yesterday, a spokesman of the MET office told PTI
The peripheral areas of famous hill resorts of Pahalgam in south, Gulmarg in north and Sonamarg in central Kashmir recorded the second snowfall this month, officials said adding the snowfall continued intermittently for the second day today.
The day temperature in Srinagar dipped to 17.4 degree Celsius - five degress below normal during this part of the season, .
Srinagar, which recorded a high of 19.2 deg C yesterday, witnessed a warmer night at 8.2 deg C - six degrees above normal.
The night temperature showed several degrees improvement due to cloudy sky.
However, Leh and Kargil towns in frontier region of Ladakh recorded a low of 3.2 and 3.4 deg C, respectively, which was the lowest in any part of the state, the spokesman said.
