Delhi saw a warm day with the city recording a maximum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius, six notches above the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 14.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius against the normal 1.0 degrees Celsius during this time of the season. The city recorded 1.4 mm of rainfall during the night, a MeT spokesman said.
He said there were no reports of snowfall from any part of the region so far.
Kargil in frontier region of Ladakh was the coldest recorded place in the state with a temperature of -3.0 degrees Celsius against the previous night's -4.8 degrees Celsius while nearby Leh town recorded a low of -1.3 degrees Celsius.
High altitude tribal areas saw fresh snowfall and Keylong and Udaipurin Lahaul and and Spiti districts recorded 5 cm and 7 cm of snow while Rohtang Pass and otherhigh altitude areas had 10 cm to 15 cm of snow.
The weather remained dry in the region but sky remained partially overcast and local MeT office warned of heavy rains or snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills tomorrow.
Mercury rose by three degrees to stand at 6.0 degrees at famous tourist resort of Manali.
Cold weather conditions abated in most places in Punjab and Haryana as minimum temperature today again hovered a few notches above normal.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a low of 14.7 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal limits, a MeT Department official said.
Amritsar registered a low of 12.8 degrees Celsius, up by six notches while Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal.
