Come October 1, passengers using Lucknow airport will have to pay User Development Fee (UDF) of Rs 370 for domestic and Rs 1,060 for international flights over and above the base price of their tickets.
The UDF levy would rise by 5.9 per cent to Rs 392 for domestic flyers and Rs 1,124 for international passengers from April 1 next year, according to the latest order of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA).
While the Passenger Service Fee (PSF) for facilitation at Rs 77 per passenger, which is paid to the government, would be merged with the UDF and not charged separately as is being done now, an amount of Rs 130 as PSF for security would also be charged in addition to UDF.
The order regarding the UDF for passengers travelling out of Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport also fixed the 2014-15 and 2015-16 aeronautical charges like those for landing, parking and navigation which are to be paid by the airlines to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The order also grants a 10 per cent discount in domestic cargo-handling charges to shippers and consignors who opt to engage their own loaders to offload cargo from their vehicles and shift the same to the storage area for handing over to the airlines concerned.
AERA has also decided to exempt aircraft having less than 80 seats and operated by Indian scheduled operators from paying landing charges at Lucknow airport. Such exemption would be granted to all types of helicopters as well.
The order said that AERA would consider determining the tariff for the period beyond 2015-16 on the basis of the submissions made by AAI. The increase, if any, and to what extent, would depend upon the calculated shortfall at that time.
