"Fujifilm India and SRMC today announced their tie up for the installation of the state-of-the-art Amulet Innovality, a highly advanced breast cancer diagnostic machine," a company press release said today.
The installation of Amulet Innovality at SRMC would give patients access to best early derection screening facilities.
The facility enables doctors to obtain a clear view of the breast tissue, facilitating identification of early stage breast cancer and reducing the need for additional tests, it said.
According to a study undertaken by Ernst and Young, more than 50 per cent of the breast cancer patients were diagnosed too late and there was lack of awareness regarding the disease among people, the release said.

The study also revealed that less than one per cent of Indian women between 40 and 69 years participate in breast screening programme every two years as against 30 per cent in China and 65 per cent in the United States, it added.
"At Fujifilm, we are continuously innovating and the Amulet Innovality is one such product that has made early detection of breast cancer," he added.
